I was chatting with my friend Arvell Lewis on Skype tonight when another friend sent me some info that the thought would be useful. Of course, everyone said it was great (they always do when it’s new) but I figured I’d take a moment to check it out.

After going the through the opt-in process I was taken to simple back office where I was given access to the .pdf file.

As I began to read, I was surprised by the quality of the content in the free report. I’ve paid for e-books and reports that aren’t even close to what this shares.

The report deals with generating income using CPA offers. This is something, that until tonight, I was completely unfamiliar with. Now that I have studied up, I can see where this would be could be very valuable (and profitable) for those who know how to generate leads online.

It’s free, and I think you’ll agree, once you’ve read it, that the information is solid and well worth exploring as an additional income stream.

How to use an incentive to drive traffic and build a mailing list

When it comes to Internet marketing online, information is king.  When you have information that people want, it will cause them to take action.  It’s knowing how to get people to take action that brings about results.

The best way to market a mentoring program is to offer small pieces of the information you are selling, for free.  You can do this through a blog… but from an Internet market perspective, it’s better to do it through a marketing system that will allow you to capture an e-mail address and build a mailing list

For branding purposes, I have created an e-book that matches my brand… and am offering information to the prospective client that they can use for fr.ee, apply and see it work.  When the information I share works for people, guess where they come to buy the good stuff?  You guessed it!

My suggestion would be to set up a similar marketing system and also create a blog where you can also share information based on keywords you are using for search engine optimization and then anchor those keywords, as links, to other information of the same persuasion.  The deeper the search engines can dig through your blog, the better… so long as your blog is linked up (both inbound and outbound) with links that are relevant to the subject matter of your blog.  You don’t want links on blog for cake and ice cream leading to a blog about hammers and nails.

Where are the Internet marketing hot spots?

I was born and raised by a hard working, born again, tournament bass fisherman with an undying passion for his beliefs, ethics and goals. Fortunately much of that rubbed off, and today, I’m very thankful for the blessing of having a great father in my life.

If there was one thing my dad taught me well, it was fishing. I don’t know what it is about fishing… and only those of us who have been “hooked” understand. The irony in it is that the hook that gets you with fishing is almost identical to the hook that gets you with Internet marketing. Most friends and family think your crazy, but for some reason, you believe, just like those who fish do!

Here is another similarity with fishing and marketing… if you don’t know how then the results are going to be poor. In fishing, you have to know which bait to use for which fish, where to catch them, what time they are biting the best, etc.

Markting online is the EXACT same way. There are variables that exist, that when not targeted correctly, can lead to little or no results.

For example… when it comes to fishing, one of the things a good fisherman will watch is barometric pressure. I good fisherman knows the barometric pressures that are likely to produce favorable results. An experience safe list marketer will know the best days and times to hit the safe lists for the best possible results from their marketing campaign.

The problem is this… the good fisherman and marketers (regardless of what they
say) never want to give up the good spots, lures, bait, tricks, tactics, etc.

As a fisherman you may hear that the fish are biting in a certain area, but if you don’t know the bait, the size of the hook, the leader and rig to use, you can expect to catch little or nothing.

Marketing is the same way. If you don’t know the “who, what, where, when, why and how”, you will find yourself hearing stories of fortune, but never able to tap into that goldmine that everyone else “claims” they are harvesting from.

So, after 10 years as full time Internet marketer, I’m giving up the goods! I’m sharing my tips, tricks, tactics, techniques, strategies, incentives, systems, resources… EVERYTHING… to help as many people, as I can, build the foundation for a solid, prosperous home based business.

How to use the social networks to build your home based business

I’m a big fan of social marketing! From Twitter, to Facebook, to YouTube, to the Ning Networks, that’s where I like to spend my time when it comes to building my business.

Why? Because that’s where the people are! There is one key element that we all need to be successful in business… and that key element is people. People drive business… all you need to do is look at the state of the global economy right now to see that. If we don’t have people to buy products and services or to join business opportunities, then we don’t have a business.

Facebook and Twitter are my two favorite social marketing resources. Here are a few strategies that you can use to make friends, drive traffic and build your business using these resources.

1.) Communicate with new friends! As you delve deeper into the world of Web 2.0 and social networking, you will begin to receive friend requests. One of the worst things you can do is to NOT acknowledge that request. You would be amazed how a simple, “Hi, thanks for adding me as a friend. How are you today?”, reply can blossom and grow into friendships and business transactions. Be cordial and be friendly. If you aren’t willing to communicate with people, person to person, then social networking is probably not for you.

2.) Use the resources on these networks the way they were intended. Blog forms are not a place for advertising and sales letters. If you want to blog about your business opportunity, blog the benefits to your target niche versus spamming another business opportunity. Use forums for discussion and conversation, the way they were intended. The same applies to groups. Use groups to share information and strategies with others… what you give will come back to you.

Keep this in mind concerning groups, though. If someone starts and advertising group, then advertise, that’s what the group is for. But if someone has created a group for a different reason, respect what they are doing and simply offer input and experience. Doing this will drive traffic to your profile. You will find groups and forums that have been built for the purpose of advertising on the Ning networks and through Google search. Remember, advertising where advertising is not permitted or wanted is spam.

3.) Create an AWESOME profile! The better your profile looks, the better the response. One thing that continues to amaze me is the pictures that some people chose to use of themselves. The last thing you want to do is use a picture that is going to scare someone away. Pictures that make you look angry, depressed, sad, defeated, arrogant or otherwise are going to work to your disadvantage. If you want people to be attracted, use a picture that is warm and friendly.

Your profile should be a combination of both advertising and information about you. You don’t want to go overboard on either. Also make sure you are offering a great incentive. This will get people to take actions (see my blog for incentive based marketing using a funnel system.) Your participation in the networks drives traffic through your profile, and if you want people to take action via your profile, it needs to be a place people will want to come back to.

Take these strategies, apply them to what you are doing on MySpace, Facebook, Yuwie, Direct Matches, Ning and the other major networks and you’ll see a BIG difference in the response you get!

How to create a traffic funnel using social marketing resources

When it comes to marketing online, there is a formula (that when followed) produces great results.  That formula is traffic + leads + sales = sign ups.  For many marketers, especially those who are in direct sales, traffic + leads = sales.  However, there are thousands of people marketing and advertising business opportunities online who are looking for people to sign up into a business opportunity with them.

The key to any good funnel is the quality of the traffic. Your mailing list will be useless if it’s loaded with the wrong people. This is why using resources like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other social resources work so well, because they allow you to target your niche easily.

One great way to target your niche on a social network is to create a group or start a forum. Facebook is a great place to start a group and build it big in an shorter amount of time than most. When creating a group, base it on the NEEDS of the members, NOT YOURS! If this is going to work, you must build trust. Trust isn’t built by throwing your products and businesses in the face of people. This is why offering a quality incentive is so important.

For example, if you are promoting a nutritional product with an Mangosteen or Acai base, then you would want to start a group that targets people who have health issues that could be remedied or relieved by your product. So starting a support group for arthritis or asthma sufferers might be a good option here. Think about it… with the millions of people on Facebook, don’t you suppose that there are significant amount of arthritis or asthma sufferers there?

That’s only one example, on a list of many, that you could use to build a funnel system for your business. You could also start a discussion forum in a similar manner. Forums keeps people interested and engaged, which is what you want. Give them a place to get involved, and they will.

When it comes to getting people to take action (filling out a form, for example) the best way to make that happen is to offer a quality freebie… something good, something that they can get from you, apply to their life or business and, most importantly, see it work. When you do this, if builds credibility, and if your free stuff works well, they will be more likely to spend money when the time comes.

Can you really add 19,000 plus followers to Twitter in 30 days?

Well, I didn’t think so… to be totally honest. In fact, when I saw this in my e-mail when I woke up today I laughed and thought, “wow, what’s next?” “Is it really likely that this tool will help people make money online?”

Tweet Me Right! Twitter Does And Don’ts!

Twitter Me This? What is the best way to use Twitter for home based business and making money online? In my opinion, I don’t think that the use of Twitter differs from any other social resource.

Mingling (for those who are willing to do so) is one of the best ways to use Twitter. There is nothing wrong with participating in a conversation that is taking place publicly. If you see something of interest, chime in. This type of activity is welcome and expected. If people want to chat privately on Twitter, they can form a group or use Direct Messaging. The main reason people chat publicly is because they want the exposure… that’s why they use Twitter.

Twitter is a great tool for learning and growing as well as sharing. The sharing works best, as I have experienced, when the information you are distributing brings about a solution to an issue or a problem that someone else is having trying to build their home based business. If you can provide knowledge to someone, and the knowledge you have shared actually helps them make money online, you have won trust… and that is the key when it comes to developing a responsive database!

Twitter allows you to take the best aspects of social marketing and compacts them all into one neat little package that allows you to move fast and efficiently. Using the right tools, it brings the right people into your world and gives you direct access to open the lines of communication.

I look at Twitter the same way I look at the other social networks.   I see them a large rooms full of people. When I’m in a large room of people, I mingle. One of the best ways to mingle is to find something of common interest via a profile. This makes it easier to open the lines of communication, making things less awkward. For example, anytime I see golf, fishing, ministry, football, etc. on a profile, I will use that to open the conversation. I don’t force my home based business or my products on people, I don’t have to. Business just happens…

To get the most from your Twitter experience there are numerous tools available that will help you manage Twitter as well as generate more followers and build relationships. Most everyone on Twitter has one common goal… to add more friends (followers) as is the case in most social networks. If you are in working a home based business, the chances of generating sign ups and sales increase greatly with the number of people you know.

How to use social networks to generate leads and build your mailing list

One of the things that makes the social networks like Facebook, Ning, MySpace, Yuwie and others such a great resource is the ability that they give you to communicate using their e-mail messaging systems.

Both the Ning networks and Facebook offer systems that will allow you build a database/mailing list right within their system. If you think about it, that’s a pretty amazing tool to have access to, free of charge. When all you have to do is add friends and then invite them to join your group? Wow… very cool!

However, a big problem with this is that fact that the spam epidemic on these networks has gotten so out of hand, that most of the messages people send, regardless as to the subject, are instantly and deleted and/or ignored because most people are fed up and tired of hearing the same thing from the same people, all the time.

One of the worst mistakes anyone can make, in the social networks, is to use the messaging systems for the means of selling opportunities and programs. This forces the savvy marketer, then, to think outside of the box and come up with a creative way to entice readers to take action.

The social networks are a wealth of traffic. If you use the resources with in the networks correctly, this will bring large volumes of traffic to your profile. Unfortunately most people do not know how to convert that internal traffic to external traffic and leads.

One of the best way I have found to create conversion on the pages of my social networks is to incorporate an auto responder. By adding a form directly to my profile page, it offers visitors the opportunity to request information from me that is going to be of an actual benefit to them, versus just more spam and sales strategies.

Sales and sign ups are much easier to obtain when you understand how to set up a system that will actually begin the conversion process for you. This starts with having a system that will allow you to build a list and market to it automatically.

The the problem with standard auto responders is that many will not work within a social profile due to scripting conflicts or restrictions. I have found one, however, that will work on many of the major social networks and resources, including Ning… and it’s one of the best I’ve seen yet.

Here is are a couple of samples…
