A change of heart and opened eyes for 2009 by Rex Harris

First and foremost, I want to end the year by extending to everyone a speacial “heart felt” thanks (no pun intended… lol) for your prayers and support during my recent heart valve replacement surgery. So many of you stepped up and helped others and I could not be more impressed, and more thankful, for the friends I have developed through networking online.

I was told, before surgery, that I would notice a remarkable change but I had no idea just how remarkable that change would be. Before surgery, I found myself at odds with many things in life to include business, relationships and… myself. It’s ironic how the scariest event I have ever faced has turned out to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Along with being able to breathe again, I’m able to endure long walks on the beach (with my wife) here in beautiful San Diego, CA, make it through the day without needing multiple naps and do the things I love to do… within reason, as my chest is still healing from being sawed in half.

What I didn’t anticipate was the reflection and wisdom that would come with this. If you have ever undergone open heart surgery yourself, you can probably relate. There is a significant impact upon the mind, soul, spirity and body when the heart is operated on. I can’t explain it completely… it’s almost like a brand new lease on life. It gives you a sense of clarity.

Being laid up for five weeks gives you time to reflect. After looking back on one of the most successful years I’ve seen in business online, I also saw the failures in that success. I’m thankful for that because I know now what needs to be done to make 2009 my best year ever.

To share in this reflection, my advice would be this… don’t ever let the money come before the people. The people are the life blood of the home business industry. In fact, they are the key element. Without people, there is no one to purchase our services or products. Always remember, each transaction is a blessing. If you are a giver, as many in this industry are, the transaction is a blessing the goes much further than just our personal bank accounts.

One of my favorite quotes from the MasterKey System says “the Universal is constantly seeking the channel through which it can operate.” I’m a firm believer in the law or reciprocity and the law of abundance. The Bible teaches it clearly… “Give, and it shall be given unto you.” Both MKS and The Bible teach “seek FIRST THE KINGDOM, then the THINGS will be added.” Focus on the “to be” and not so much on the “to have.” It makes a huge difference. Like I said above, every transaction is a blessing… and it provides the FUEL we need to create ABUNDANCE.

When SELF is first, regardless of the situation, the flow that keeps us in abundance is hindered. The key to life changing income is life giving outflow! Rex – James 1:25

Rex, that was a very nice post you made here. I could feel that every word you wrote was straight from your heart. I strongly believe that everything single second in our life happens for a reason. And although your surgery was a very scarey happening in your life, God was with you every step of the way. He knew exactly what he was doing and seeing the words you wrote in here He knows it was a success. God Bless You… Robin :-)

  2. Your change of heart has and will touch many lives Rex. We all need to reflect on where we’ve been and where we are going to be. Instead of what we have….it’s what we give that truly matters. Thanks for reminding us of that, Rex.
